The city of Fez and its inhabitants are preparing this year, as in previous years, to welcome fans of the Fez Spiritual Music Festival under the slogan ‘Renaissance’ after the 2024 edition, which was widely welcomed, according to the festival's director.
The 2025 edition is the 28th edition of the Fes Spiritual Music Festival, a unique event that brings together the cultures of the world through the authenticity of the Sufi heritage and the richness of world spiritual music, with the slogan of "Renaissance", which reflects the spirit of cultural revival and dialogue between peoples.
History and Objectives of the Fez Spiritual Music Festival
The year 1994 marked the beginning of the Fez Spiritual Music Festival, which witnessed the launch of its first edition and then, over the following years, became a global meeting place for different cultures from all over the world.
The Fes Spiritual Music Festival has become the world's leading festival in the field of sacred music. It aims to promote dialogue between different cultures through spiritual music and Sufi culture. This edition welcomes about 200 artists and bands from around the world to encourage the convergence of world cultures and civilizations and strengthen ties with the African continent.
The Fez Spiritual Music Festival 2025 is a meeting of cultures that will take place in the Moroccan city of Fez from 16 to 24 May 2025 at multiple historical and tourist sites in the city, such as Bab El Mekina Square and Boujloud Square.
The 2025 edition of the Fes Spiritual Music Festival is organized under the theme “Renaissance,” as spiritual music can revive heritage and build bridges between peoples.
Like all previous editions in which a specific guest of honor is celebrated, this year the Italian country is celebrated as a special guest of honor, especially the city of Florence, which has a unique twinning with the city of Fez, according to the director of the festival.
Fez Spiritual Music Festival 2025 Programme and Events
The festival will officially open its doors to its fans on Friday, 16 May 2025, at night through the opening ceremony that witnesses special performances, and the events of the Fez Spiritual Music Festival 2025 will continue until 24 May.
The festival will be held at the following archaeological and famous sites in Fez:
The famous Bab El Mekina Square, where the main stage of the Fes Spiritual Music Festival is located and where the main performances will take place.
Boujloud Square, an open-air theater where performances from the 2025 Fes Spiritual Music Festival take place, adds to the magic of the evening.
Some of the performances are also held inside Jnan Esbil, the famous garden in Fez, which is a UNESCO-registered cultural heritage site.
Attending FES 2025 is an opportunity to experience a spiritual atmosphere inspired by the ancient history of Fez and to discover the city's 1,200-year history.
In terms of artists, the Fez Spiritual Music Festival 2025 will see around 200 artists from more than 15 countries perform.
